About himself as a dancer, he has performed as a soloist at the San Carlo Opera House in Naples, the English National Ballet, Ballet Argentino directed by Julio Bocca, MMcompany and Aterballetto directed by Mauro Bigonzetti. His worldwide dancing career has involved performances choreographed by such eminent figures, as Mauro Bigonzetti, William Forsythe, Roland Petit, Alvin Ailey, Auguste Bournonville, George Balanchine, Ohad Naharin and more. Capezzuto’s numerous awards, mostly for popularising Italian dance and music abroad, include the Leonide Massine award, the Roscigno Danza Best Dancer of 2005 and the Giuliana Penzi Award of 2012.
Vincenzo Capezzuto’s international singing career includes collaborations as guest artist with the ensemble L’Arpeggiata directed by Christina Pluhar recording 7 Albums for the label Warner Classics. Accompanied by Cecilia Bartoli as guest artist, Vincenzo recorded as main singer the recording of the album Gondola by the ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro, where he provided a brilliant interpretation of the 18th century songs of Venetian gondoliers, Capella Cracoviensis for the stage-production “Il Ballo delle Ingrate” by C. Monteverdi performing the role of Venus and concert version of ‘Salve Regina’ by Antonio Vivaldi, Orchestra da Camera di Perugia with the music program “Vedrò con mio diletto” dedicated to Antonio Vivaldi, Tetraktis Percussions Ensemble with the music repertoire that goes from Monteverdi to Bach, Georgian Sinfonietta Baroque Orchestra with ‘Stabat Mater’ by A. Vivaldi, Baroque Ensemble of Bogotà, Prisma ensemble, International Orchestra of Pavel Vernikov performing Schubert, Vivaldi, Bach and Neapolitan music. He performs the role of the Evangelista in the prestigious Matthew Passion by J. S.Bach togheter with Sara Mingardo and Christian Seen. In 2024 he performs the role of ‘Uomo del Mare’ in the brand new opera ‘L’ultimo viaggio di Sindbad‘ at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma; This role has been composed for him by the composer Silvia Colasanti with direction of Luca Micheletti.
Possessing a “voice” that escapes any kind of classification due to the particularity of the timbre, the extension and the remarkable versatility in the range of different musical genres, Vincenzo has performed as soloist at important concert institutions such as: Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, Roman Philharmonic, BBCProms in London, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Melbourne Recital Center, Ravenna Festival, International Winter Festival in Sochi, Quincena Musical in San Sebastian, Hong Kong Music Festival, Shanghai Music Festival etc. In 2012 he founded together with Claudio Borgianni the Soqquadro Italiano ensemble, currently one of the most innovative ensembles on the international music scene.
